Day 1 Records

Hooch CR has dropped to McDonogh BR & Rowland Hall AF.

Top 50 of 2009

Thanks – And I’ve fixed it.

Illinois - the best state for debate?

Kansas at 11 is also impressive especially considering travel rules for TOC tournaments.

Westminster wins the Policy TOC

Interesting fact: 20 out of the 32 debaters in Octofinals attended the Michigan Institutes. The next closest was 5 from Northwestern.

Breakfast of Champions Coverage

Jen’s reallllly good. :)
Peyton actually got 14th.

Breakfast of Champions Coverage

Round 6 Spreadsheet

Damien EH is actually hitting USN.
Damien GM is hitting Loyola.

Just switched up.

Bedazziling the Spreadsheet - With Shading

Apparently the shading doesnt convert when you make it a 97-03 excel doc.

So I’ve put up the 07 excel & 03 excel.

Round 4 Excel Spreadsheet - FIXED

The results will fix that error [its too minor to post a new spreadsheet] – thanks Sam.

Round 4 Excel Spreadsheet - FIXED

ALL FIXED.

Somehow I missed one row and it screwed up everything.

Should be all better- we also fixed that result.

Commentary: Why no Females?

After the TOC, I’m going to read a discussion that happened on the CEDA List Serv in 2004 about Women & the NDT and see if they mentioned any solutions. I’ll post findings.

I'm Glenn Burns with your weather report...

The last two times it has rained (2003 & 2006) on May 1- a private school won the TOC.
For the past ten years, when temperatures were in the 60’s, private schools were 4-2 in finals.

The old farmer’s almanac is giving us some mixed signals.

We’ll keep looking though, roy.

Update: TOC Field Report (4-25-09)

That’s correct – Sean Ghods from Mercer Island.

My guess with Head Royce was there was something holding up their registration – maybe they turned in the sheets late- this situation happened last year with Notre Dame, I believe. Not really sure what happened – only guesses here. I’m just glad they’re able to go since Alex did qualify with two partners.

Commentary: Why no Females?

An interesting coincidence. Ten years ago at the TOC:
28% of the participants in the Policy pool are females
6% of the teams were female-female.

As a community, we really haven’t improved in ten years.

Update: TOC Field Report (4-25-09)

Pablo Gannon, Damien
Michael Hoffman, Marquette University
Stephanie Permut, Mercer Island
Lee Quinn, Mountain Brook
Daniel Taylor, Westminster Schools
Ellis Allen, Westminster Schools

Update: TOC Field Report (4-25-09)

Head Royce WZ was added from the original list.

Update: Official Team List for the TOC (4-9-09)

Mercer Island GR will not be in attendance.
Anyone know who the next at large is?

Update: Scoreboard has been Wiki-fied (3/16/09)

Thanks for the comment!

Special thanks to our newest Web Developer – Reza Kaba- who is currently re doing it.
Perm- do both. I’m pretty sure the perm solves. It should be done completely by tomorrow.

Other good news- Kinkaid is finally working.

Let me know if there is any other stuff yall are looking for. Also, leave names – and you can get credit for your ideas! :-)
