Westminster Wins the TOC!

Posted in 2010 TOC on May 7th, 2010 by jeffrey miller – Comments Off

Westminster becomes the first school to repeat their championships at the Tournament of Champions in two decades!

Ellis Allen & Daniel Taylor defeated the Saint Marks School of Texas on a 2-1 decision late Monday night.  TOC Founder, JW Patterson, also indicated this was the first time no senior was in the final championship round.

Westminster was coached by Jenny Heidt, David Heidt, Hays Watson, Rob Mulholand, Elli Kuenzel, Mikaela Malsin, and Jordan Foley.

This is Jenny Heidt’’s 4th time coaching the TOC Champions (all since 2002!).

Congratulations on keeping the TOC Championship in Georgia!

The Pattern will determine the Winner

Here is the pattern of the last 12 Champions:

1998: Public School wins (Glenbrook South)
1999: Private School wins (Montgomery Bell)
2000: Private School wins (Greenhill)
2001: Public School wins (Glenbrook North)
2002: Private School wins (Pace Academy)
2003: Private School wins (The College Preparatory School)
2004: Public School wins (Glenbrook North)
2005: Private School wins (Westminster Schools)
2006: Private School wins (Greenhill)
2007: Public School wins (Glenbrook North)
2008: Private School wins (Greenhill)
2009: Private School wins (Westminster)

If you’re a public School, your odds just got better for winning the TOC.

SPC & Bronx Science are the only public schools left in the tournament… so will one of them win it? This will be the first time in 12 years that public school has not been in Glenview. Send your congratulations and best wishes to the teams left in the tournament.

Great job everyone!

bluetub coverage update

Posted in 2010 TOC on April 28th, 2010 by jeffrey miller – Comments Off

Due to the lack of donations, it will not be feasible that the bluetub crew will be able to make it up to Lexington this weekend.  We hate to cancel our coverage – we had some pretty neat things in store – but just will not be able to make it happen.

We anticipate coverage for CFL & NFL Nationals.  Thank you for the schools who donated and tried to make our coverage possible.

Thanks for your support!
